CARBS DO NOT MAKE YOU FAT

Eating carbs makes you fat. It’s so untrue I could almost burst. Poor carbs, the butt of everyone’s weight gain. They have done nothing to deserve this criminalization. It’s shocking to me how people can believe such utter bull shit, simply because someone lost weight. The funny thing is they say they lost weight because they are eating less carbs, or they say they don’t eat them now full stop.

There are a couple things at play here that folks don’t consider. 1. The person did stop eating carbs and  indeed went into ketosis and that is why they have begun to lose a little weight. There is so much wrong with ketosis I don’t know where to begin. Sadly these folks tend to consume unhealthy foods and don’t prioritize those silly little things like fruits and vegetables. It’s like a superhighway for fat to your heart. It’s a diet that is centered around fat. It’s also a diet that can be extremely dangerous for anyone who has any history of heart disease or high blood pressure…or just any human in general.

The second thing at play here is: The weight loss could be more associated with the fact that they are eating less. The main reason folks who are eating no carbs lose weight is because they are indeed eating at a calorie deficit. IT IS NOT THE CARBOHYDRATE! THEY ARE SIMPLY EATING LESS.  They gained weight because they ate too much. This is what happens, folks begin to look at what they eat, they plan their meals, and for the first time are eating with intention. Yes they eat fewer carbs, but essentially this is the deficit. People making their own food choices are finally losing weight and believe it’s because they stopped eating carbs. It gives folks a villain to blame for their overeating. It’s not me it’s all those carbs I was eating. No, no, absolutely not.
